ImageIngredients
  • 450 gm Uncooked prawns, peeled and heads removed
  • 1 Garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 tsp Ginger, finely grated
  • 3 tblsp Tamarind paste
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 3/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Chili powder
  • 2 tblsp Vegetable oil
  • 3 Garlic cloves, mashed slightly
  • 125 ml Coconut milk, unsweetened
  • 1 tblsp Fresh coriander leaf, finely chopped
  • 2 Fresh green chilies, finely chopped
Method

Devien the prawns and put in a bowl with the crushed garlic, ginger, tamarind, turmeric, salt and chili powder. Mix well and set aside for 10 minutes but no longer.

Heat the oil in a wok over a medium-high flame. When hot put in the remaining garlic and stir fry until slightly brown. Add the prawn and marinade and stir fry until the prawns brown slightly (about 1 minute). Turn the heat to low and add the coconut milk, fresh coriander leaf and green chilies. Stir and as soon as the sauce begins to simmer, turn off the flame and serve.
